Niobium Giclee Print - Periodic Table of the Elements

from £16.00
The Elements - Niobium

Drawing taken from a self initiated project of the illustrator and designer James Nicholls, designed to show the scientific and everyday uses* of all 118 elements in the periodic table as an educational and entertaining piece of wall art, in a more engaging way than a standard periodic table. Every element has been hand drawn by the artist over the course of 3 years. Each drawing shows the atomic number, the symbol, and with the use of colour the group that the element falls into.

This print shows Niobium. Niobium, formerly known as columbium, is a chemical element with symbol Nb (formerly Cb) and atomic number 41. It is a soft, grey, crystalline, ductile transition metal, often found in the minerals pyrochlore and columbite, hence the former name "columbium". The rocket nozzle on the Apollo 15 CSM was made from niobium-titanium alloy, which in the illustration is shown orbiting the moon.
