Glass is a compound of Silicon and Oxygen, here glass is shown by the chemistry set test tubes and other equipment, silicon is shown with a silicon breast implant and oxygen by a deep sea diver.
Drawing taken from a self initiated project of the illustrator and designer James Nicholls, designed to show the scientific and everyday uses* of all 118 elements in the periodic table as an educational and entertaining piece of wall art, in a more engaging way than a standard periodic table. Every element has been hand drawn by the artist over the course of 3 years. Each drawing shows the atomic number, the symbol, and with the use of colour the group that the element falls into.
